Do I need to install agents on hypervisors or inside VMs?

No. Collection goes through a NaoShift agent installed on a machine in your IT system, which queries the APIs of hypervisors, cloud and backup tools read-only: nothing to install on the hypervisors or inside the VMs, outbound traffic only. NaoShift Core write actions, if you enable them, go through that same agent with a dedicated account.

Are AWS and GCP connected?

Not yet. The cloud connector covers Microsoft Azure today; AWS and GCP are on the roadmap. Azure VMs are treated as first-class VMs: inventory, capacity, costs and recommendations.

How do costs become comparable between on-premise and cloud?

Every workload is brought to the same frame of reference: consolidated inventory, normalized metrics, explicit cost assumptions — licenses, hardware, migration effort. Mobility scenarios are then priced on your actual estate, not on market averages.
