Infrastructure Planning Management

The cockpit of your infrastructure.

And the copilot of your decisions. NaoShift correlates hypervisors and backups in real time, detects misconfigurations, data protection risks and upcoming capacity shortfalls — and lets you simulate failures and transformation scenarios before you act.

The day-to-day

You run your infrastructure. But your infrastructure doesn't tell you everything.

vCenter on one side, Proxmox on the other, the backup console in a third tab, and a capacity spreadsheet nobody has updated in months. Meanwhile, the infrastructure keeps moving — and drifting.

Silent errors

A datastore with no path redundancy, an inconsistent MTU, a VM missing from backup jobs: invisible day to day, until the day they become an incident.

Wasted resources

Oversized VMs, reservations never consumed, forgotten snapshots, cold storage: a significant share of your resources is allocated but never used — and nobody has time to prove it.

Saturation spotted too late

An 85% threshold doesn't tell you when things break. Without a forecast, the first serious alert often comes from your users, on a Friday evening.

The copilot

It sees everything. It forgets nothing. And it tells you what to do.

Eight continuously correlated analyses, converging into one prioritized action plan.

Risks & configuration

60+ continuous checks across storage, network and topology

NaoShift continuously combs through your infrastructure and surfaces the misconfigurations and weak points nobody has time to hunt down by hand.

  • Storage: non-redundant paths, single HBA, old or oversized snapshots
  • Network: inconsistent MTU, trunk VLANs, single uplink, duplicate IPs and MACs
  • Topology: N+1 not met, overallocation, mixed builds within a cluster
Data protection

Your backups, correlated with your infrastructure — coverage gaps exposed

NaoShift connects to Veeam Backup, Commvault and Proxmox Backup Server and cross-references their data with the hypervisor inventory: every unprotected VM, every missed RPO becomes an identified risk — not a discovery on the day of the incident.

  • VMs present on the hypervisors but missing from backup jobs
  • Actual RPOs checked against your targets, repeatedly failing jobs, repositories nearing capacity
  • Protection risks fed into the action plan, alongside capacity and configuration
Savings & Green IT

Free up what's sitting idle: right-sizing, consolidation — and fewer watts

Based on actual usage, NaoShift identifies every resource allocated for nothing — and turns each optimization into a concrete gain: cores, gigabytes, euros and avoided kgCO2e.

  • Right-sizing VM by VM on actual usage — with no performance risk
  • Idle resources: inactive VMs, reservations never consumed, cold storage
  • Measured carbon footprint of your infrastructure — and the CO2 impact of every action in the plan
Scenario simulation & comparison

What if you moved off VMware? Compare — on your actual infrastructure

Simulate replacing your virtualization stack and compare the cost of VMware alternatives — Proxmox VE, Vates (XCP-NG), Nutanix, Hyper-V or cloud: licenses, hardware and migration effort, calculated on your inventory, not on a market average.

  • Cluster-by-cluster simulation: dependencies and non-migratable workloads detected
  • 3-year TCO comparison, adjustable assumptions (support, hardware, man-days)
  • Target architecture auto-sized for each scenario

Capacity Planning & Forecast

Alerted before saturation, not the day it happens

NaoShift projects the real growth of every cluster, host and datastore from continuous collection, and gives you the date you will run out of capacity — CPU, RAM, storage — with alerts as soon as the trajectory changes.

  • Projections built on your actual trends, not static thresholds
  • Growth anomaly detection on a datastore or a cluster
  • Simulation of adding or removing nodes and onboarding new workloads
Disaster recovery simulation

Simulate the failure before you suffer it

Losing a node, losing a room in a stretched cluster, VM failover, a full DR drill: NaoShift replays the scenario on your actual infrastructure and tells you whether it holds — and if not, why.

  • Dry-run DR drills: restart sequence, blocking points, remaining capacity
  • Failover capacity recalculated on every infrastructure change
  • Scenarios saved, replayable and comparable over time
Recommendation plan

A concise, prioritized, directly actionable plan

Everything NaoShift detects converges into a single plan: what to do, in what order, with what gain. Not an 80-page report — a list of actions your team can work through.

  • Prioritized by risk and by gain: fixes, reclaims, upgrades
  • Every action documented: affected resources, impact, prerequisites
  • Progress tracking and export — for the team and for management
AI & integrations

A copilot that talks — and plugs into your tools

Query your infrastructure in natural language with Infra Intellisense, and plug NaoShift into your ecosystem: CMDB, API, and an MCP server to power your own AI workflows.

  • Infra Intellisense: contextual answers on your actual inventory
  • CMDB sync: inventory, relationships and changes exported continuously
  • MCP server at mcp.naoshift.io: your assistants and AI agents access estate data

Getting started

Your first diagnostic before your coffee gets cold

No agents on your hosts, no write access. An RVTools export is all it takes to get started.

1

Create your workspace

A work email address is enough. No credit card, no mandatory sales call.

~ 1 minute
2

Import your infrastructure

RVTools export (.xlsx) to start, then real-time connectors: VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE, Azure — and your Veeam, Commvault, PBS backups.

~ 2 minutes
3

See what you couldn't see

Misconfigurations, upcoming capacity shortfalls, unprotected VMs — and the action plan to go with them.

Customer storyHigher education — preparing a VMware to Proxmox VE migration for a teaching platform

With several thousand VMs used by students, changing hypervisor could not be reduced to moving machines. The first step was to regain control of the platform with a NaoShift assessment.

2,800VMs analyzed in a few days
35%of VMs optimizable — oversized, inactive, to be reviewed
20%of VMs deletable — completed labs, obsolete environments
Before migrating, we needed to understand precisely what we were hosting. Within a few days, we had a clear view of our platform: the VMs actually in use, those that could be optimized or removed, and their level of obsolescence. This visibility now allows us to approach the migration to Proxmox in a gradual, calm and controlled way.

Frequently asked questions

No. The simplest way in is importing an RVTools (.xlsx) or LiveOptics export — a file your teams already generate. Read-only real-time connectors then keep the analysis continuously up to date: VMware vSphere, Proxmox VE and Azure on the infrastructure side, Veeam Backup, Commvault and Proxmox Backup Server on the backup side. Nutanix Prism, Xen Orchestra and Hyper-V connectors are in the works.
